Reflection of "perception of public's view on AI"

Based on my research, most people in the publics around various countries in the world view AI as a positive aspect in terms of technology but such views are dependent on how the media directs the knowledge of AI to the public & how educated the public are in regard to understanding how the technology works.

As with the case of France & Poland, with France misleading the public in terms of giving AI "legal" status that normally would be granted to a human proms fear that goes against the national attitude (culture) & individual values of which, the French are not as dynamic to adapt if they bear the risk to lose their job. Poland one the other hands lack the resources, investment, purpose & goals to researching into the technology despite being more than capable to.

AI is something that its true capability is still to be determine but with much potential that is to be tapped into, how fast it will be adopt also depends on the acceptances of public, the willingness to integrate AI to their daily lives.

Abstract: The Art of Design,

Paula Scher: Graphic Design

wolf head edit.png

After watching the show, I learn quite a number of things such as a particular visual message can have a different meaning or style depending on how you frame it, one example is that the letter "E". If you make the middle section of the "E" half in length, and push it up a little it gives off the style of Art décor while pushing it below will give off the style of Moderna. It's all about perspectives, to explore various POV (point-of-view) to deliver a message with the correct tone.

Paula Scher also mentions that "If you are not in a state of play, you can't make anything" which I find it true as a designer we need to play around to see what works. Not just by doing but also by thinking around a specific topic or focal point in order to ask questions. As designer based on what Paula said, we are not changing anyone but show them a better verson, an alternate possibility. This makes me speechless, as the purpose of the trend report is to show a possibility, an alternative reality that the future can take and how we designer can do to space it.

For Paula Scher, making stuff for heart is like the heart of everything, it's like making magic for a moment. For me as a designer after watching Paula Scher, I believe that what designer can do and make can be magic in whatever project we do. We just need to believe it, then do it.

Self - Reflection

Base on what Randy say in the MIRO, I have to not just search up existing topic or research base on my topic but also look at it through a designer's lens to understand how my topic goes with my practices & how it affect my manifesto. What I as a designer can do to shape the future base on the trend I have identify through the trend report, to adapt to it.

I have to understand how does my topic influences design, how it influences my role as a designer.

What tools am I going to help with my research?

I will be using books, articles on the internet & as many resources as I can find for my research.

How can I apply the principles of future thinking in my practice & research?

By synthesizing my research to look at things from various different angle while asking question on various signs will allow me to look at a problem design with precision.

What is my plan towards my submission on Week 15?

I plan to first collect all the various data I need for each of the STEEP, as it’s the data collection will be the hardest part for it take a long time to do so. Such I estimate I plan to finish data collection by Week 11 or latest Week 12 before working to reframe, refine & contextualize my research on week 12/13 before synthesizing it further to answer my question of the topic.
